Directions and Visiting Information
We want to make your visit with us as enjoyable as possible and although we cannot control the traffic or airport delays, it is important to us that when you arrive on campus that you can find parking and where to meet us as soomthly as possible. In addition to the information below, we will be sending a detailed email within a week of your visit with additional details and information to assist you.
Accommodations
If you need overnight accommodations, visit the Georgia Tech Admissions website for information on hotel availability, locations, and special Georgia Tech discounts.
Additionally we also recommend the new Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center, located on 800 Spring Street in Technology Square. This all new hotel on the Georgia Tech campus is across the street from the Barnes and Noble @ Georgia Tech Bookstore, has exceptional food and service, wireless connectivity, a pool and fitness center, a parking garage adjacent to hotel, and 252 guest rooms. You may contact the Georgia Tech Hotel reservations team at 1-800-706-2899 or 404-838-2100 and request the "Shadow Day Event Room Block" to receive the GT discounted room rate of $122.
Special Assistance
If you require special accommodations for a physical disability, please let us know and we will work with the Disabled Student Services Office at 404.894.2564 (voice) or 404.894.1664 (TDD). Please call at least two weeks prior to your visit, so we can make appropriate plans for your parking, transportation, and/or communication needs.
Where to meet us and park
Shadow Day will begin at Georgia Tech's Bill Moore Student Success Center, attached to the west side of Bobby Dodd Stadium. If you are driving, please plan to park in the first surface lot next to the Burge Parking Deck, located across the street from Bobby Dodd Stadium on North Avenue. An interactive map detailing the area can be found here. Vouchers will be provided to cover the cost of parking for the day. Also, for driving directions, please use the address 219 Uncle Heinie Way, Atlanta, GA 30332.
If you are just being dropped off we suggest going to the east side of Bobby Dodd Stadium and as you reach almost the top of the street (Bobby Dodd Way) just past the stadium there is a left turn which is a circular driveway. Just get out when you see the steps and walk straight and you will immediately see the Student Success Center on your left.
Driving south on I-75/85 into Atlanta:
Take Exit #249D (North Avenue). At the top of the exit ramp, turn right onto North Avenue. Cross Techwood Drive (the 1st light) and the Burge Parking Deck will be immediately on the left. Use the Pedestrian overpass at the top of the parking deck and walk across North Avenue onto Tech’s Campus. Follow the sidewalk on the right. The Student Success Center is attached to the Stadium to the right of Tech Tower. Shadow Day hosts will be there to greet you inside the front entrance.
Driving north on I-75/85 into Atlanta:
Take Exit #249D (Spring Street). Turn left onto West Peachtree Street (2nd red light). Turn left again onto North Avenue (1st red light). Drive through the next two red lights (the 2nd intersection is Techwood Drive). The Burge Parking Deck is immediately on the left after Techwood Drive. Use the Pedestrian overpass at the top of the parking deck and walk across North Avenue onto Tech’s Campus. Follow the sidewalk on the right. The Student Success Center is attached to the Stadium to the right of Tech Tower. Shadow Day hosts will be there to greet you inside the front entrance.
Arriving at Hartsfield Airport:
Cab: Take a cab to 219 Uncle Heinie Way NW, Atlanta, GA to the Student Success Center. Cab fare is approximately $30. Walk briefly along the sidewalk next to Bobby Dodd Stadium and the Student Success Center will be on your right. Shadow Day hosts will be there to greet you inside the front entrance.
MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority):
Trains take you from the airport baggage claim to the North Avenue station. It is a 25-minute ride. Exit the North Avenue MARTA Station via the North Avenue exit door and walk towards the Varsity Restaurant and Tech campus. Continue on North Avenue and cross over I-75/85. Walk past student housing, the Wardlaw Center, and Bobby Dodd Stadium on the right. Immediately after the stadium, walk up the stairs on the right. Follow the sidewalk on the right to the front doors of the Student Success Center. Shadow Day hosts will be there to greet you inside the front entrance.
